Local Delivery

I would like to take a moment to talk about Spoonflower. I think they are such a great company, they allow people to design their own fabrics and buy them for a very low price, starting at just $18.00 a yard. They also offer different types of fabric as well. Best of all, at least for me, the fabric is all printed in Durham, North Carolina, just a few miles from us. They also offer one fabric that is completly made in The United States.

These are some of my favroites:

1st Row: Fig-a-licious, Evotree number twenty six, White Anemones
2nd Row: Zig-Zag Noir, Rabbit and heart linen, Dog Show
3rd Row: Doves, Nasturtiums, Play Mat
4th Row: Tiny Bow Ribbon, Charted Waters, Christmas Lights

My head will not stop buzzing with ideas for all of these great fabrics!

Trina Turk for Schumacher Fabrics

When it's this kind of cold for this amount of time my brain can't help but wander to warmer spring days. These days are the perfect days in North Carolina to be on the porch, curled up in a comfortable chair, porch swing, or sofa. The partnership of fashion & textile designer Trina Turk with F. Schumacher fabric house has resulted in a collection of vibrant, bold, & punchy indoor/outdoor fabrics!
Samples of these fabulous new prints are available though the showroom upon request!
Enjoy browsing the collection, and feel free to email me with questions! info@virginiagail.com

Living in Color: Purple

Being a designer and a resident of an apartment building I am constantly struggling to add color, and life, to my new post college home. It has been a little more of a challenge than I thought it would be. At High Point I noticed that purple is slowly making a come back and I must say, I like it.A set of these were in the Currey & Co showroom and I have been trying to find a place to use them in. No such luck yet, sadly I don't think they would quite work in my home.

This Kravet Fabric could easily go from casual to modern.

These ruffle shower curtains by India Rose are very fun but the purple makes it slightly more daring.

The dark purple is great for fall and can also transition very well into holiday decor. This card is from www.smudgeink.com and I love the different shades of purple used.

I also think I need this skirt from Banana Republic. I need a fancy skirt for the holidays, and I think this is perfect. Also, if you go to Banana's website and search for purple you'll be amazed at the amount of great stuff that is there right now.
Have a great Wednesday everyone, try to stay warm!
