New Fall Products Are In!

Recently in, Company C's colorful and stylish fall pointillism quilt! Containing 100% cotton and a 200 thread count, easy to wash and maintain with its tons of colors. If you aren't in the mood for the cheerful dots, the reverse side flips to rainbow pieced stripes. Come by to check out it all out; quilts, shams, pillows, throws, and rugs.

Company C has also put out a couple colorful throws and pillows to match perfectly with the bright colors in the quilt. They are very lightweight wool throws and available in various colors.

Fall: Not So Dull!

Having lived in North Carolina for going on ten years now, I know that the fall is a very exciting time. The State Fair is one of my favorites of the season, it brings together so much of our great culture, food, and residences. All the lights, colors and smells of the state fair embody the word "fall", and the state fair is anything but dull.

At the Virginia Gail Collection we have the same feeling. There are many new things for fall happening in our show room which are full of life and color.

First we have our artist opening this Friday, October 8th. Our artist this month is Cathy Martin from Chapel Hill. Her paintings have been in our showroom the past few weeks and have been very popular. One of the first paintings she brought in, and a staff favorite, is this beautiful painting:

This, along with many of her other great pieces will be on display this Friday. Come and see her work and enjoy some delicious treats!

Coming soon to the store will be this stunning quilt from Company C.

We are very excited to get our new shipment in from Company C. This pointillism sham has many different bright, vibrant colors which would make it great for any season. The "pumpkin" trim however makes it just perfect for this fall. Stop by our showroom soon to see what other great rugs, throws, and pillows Company C has to offer.

Lastly I can't help but share these great new pillows from Dwell Studio that I stumbled upon this morning. The colors are so bright, they would really give life to any space.

Garden Sculpture Field Trip

 Imperial Horses Lead a Caravan of Sculpture

Martha and I were out recently looking for outdoor furnishings.  Look at what we found!  These amazing, monumental garden scupture with motifs reminiscent of the ancient Middle Eastern, Asian and Indian cultures.  The pair of horses shown above are taller than I am!

There is a veritable forest of these large stone pieces, and as they mass together it gave me the feeling of being near an archaeological find of long lost treasure.  There is even a representation of the friendly and always helpful Ganesha.

You just never know what you're going to find around the next corner!

Jennifer Davis | Merit By Design

We'd like to introduce you to Jennifer Davis and her latest project, Merit By Design. Jennifer, a native of Durham, is by trade a psychotherapist, a life & wellness coach, and a yoga instructor. After following love and relocating to Bangkok, Thailand, Jennifer soon discovered her un-tapped passion for vintage textiles. She worked with many talented Thai women artisans to produce a line of one of a kind Yoga Bags and Pillows.


Jennifer writes about her vision, "I was walking through a street market in Chiang Mai, Thailand when I discovered these beautiful fabrics and the amazing Hilltribe women who hand craft them. While it was the beauty and detail of their work that first caught my eye, I now delight in being a part of helping these women earn a living wage as they preserve their traditional skills. We enjoyed our visit with Jennifer and are pleased to have a few of her beautiful creations in our showroom!
